It is no longer news that controversial actress, Tonto Dikeh, has finally found love.
Contrary to the expectations of her critics, she is set to walk down the aisle any time soon.
As if to confirm the unexpected change in her status, pictures of the actress, who is now pregnant, and her fiancé, Oladunni Churchill, have consistently appeared on several social media platforms within the last few days.
By getting married, Tonto seems to be saying ‘Bye’ to Nollywood stars, such as Rita Dominic, Genevieve Nnaji, Bimbo Akintola and Nkiru Sylvanus, who are still retaining their unmarried status.
The latest batch of photographs also confirms that Tonto and Oladunni recently had a formal introduction in Port Harcourt, her home town. Additional photos taken during the ceremony show the couple posing with the actress’s father, grandparent and other relatives.
Following an initial debate on the background of the man who eventually stole Tonto’s heart, the actress recently posted a message on her Twitter page, in which she seemed to shed some light on Oladunni’s rumoured blood relationship with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
In the tweet, Tonto addressed the former president as her “father-in-law”, while at the same time indicating that she had taken the all-important step towards sealing her relationship with Oladunni in marriage by signing off as “Mrs. Churchill” at the end of the post.
However, with the formal introduction ceremony, the actresss, has effectively signalled her intention to quit the spinsters’ club and to deplete the ranks of unmarried Nollywood actresses.
Investigation by our correspondent showed that only a few people gave the controversial actress a chance, when the story that she was involved in a serious relationship initially broke. Not many people had thought that she had what it takes to nurture a relationship to the point of marriage. Little wonder, the news of her introduction and impending wedding hit the entertainment industry in Nigeria with a bang.
