The Manager, Sponsorships, Etisalat Nigeria, Orah Egwu, has stressed the need to engage the minds of young people, especially with challenges bordering on creativity.
Egwu noted this while speaking on the progress that the children starring in Kids Say the Darndest Things, a reality TV programme powered by Etisalat, are making.
According to her, young people make a huge proportion of Nigeria’s population.
“That is why at Etisalat, we are committed to contributing to the overall development of the Nigerian child. Powered by Etisalat Cliqlite, the show engages the minds of the younger generation in a fun-filled and motivating environment while showcasing the talents of the Nigerian child to the populace.
‘’The response from those on this episode shows that the children of this generation are remarkably smart. It is therefore paramount that parents devote more time to teaching their children and preparing them for the world as they grow up,” she added.
Meanwhile, the kids driving the show shared their opinions on healthy living and creation last Sunday when they engaged one another in the seventh edition.
Among those on the show were 10-year-old Daniel and eight-year-old Christ-Hope, who spoke on some of the health and safety lessons they had learnt at home and encouraged other kids to be cautious and obedient to their parents.
For nine-year-old Shola, it was a time to share his thoughts on how God created the earth.
He said, “God created us using the circumference for our eyes.”
He also noted that he loved Chemistry and Phonetics, while he was fascinated by rock and roll, hip hop and Jazz music.
Organisers said the children also paid a visit to one of the fire service stations in Lagos in order to get a glimpse of the day-to-day activities of the fire fighters.
