Ailing Nigerian actor, Kayode Odumosu, popularly called Pa. Kasumu, will ‘reunite’ with film lovers in a new sitcom entitled Aduke Hotel, which will hit the airwaves in January.

The actor plays Uncle Joe, who is one of the lead acts in the drama series, acting alongside veteran star Ayo Lijadu – Grandpa, the owner of Aduke Hotel, where many of the scenes take pl;ace.

Although Kasumu is currently down with Biventricular Heart Failure, an ailment that has seriously affected his heart and lungs,  he is at his best in series which will debut on Silverbird Television and GET TV on StarTimes in January.

But this is not to say that Pa Kasumu is strong enough to act now.  The producers,  Ultima Studios, who are also the brain behind  the popular TV game show, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, explain that Aduke Hotel was shot  between May and June 2012,  long before the actor fell ill.

Ultima Limited’s Head Media and Publicity, Olu Akinlabi, says, “We believe that, considering Pa Kasumu’s condition, Aduke Hotel is hitting the airwaves at the right time on January 4th, 2014. We hope that his role in it will generate sympathy for him from people who will then decide to help him get over his health situation.”

Akinlabi adds that Aduke Hotel tells the story of a 1990s hotel striving to compete in the modern day hospitality business, despite being vehemently stuck in its old way. No thanks to Engineer Babatope Adigun, – a.k.a Grandpa – a retired railway worker who in a bid to preserve his late wife’s memory, ensured the hotel implemented little or no change over the years that followed her demise.
